FDP on the theme of National Education Policy 2020
KLS IMER had organized the online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme of National Education Policy 2020- The Roadmap to Implementation on 28 th June 2021. The objective of the FDP was to understand the NEP 2020 and the impact of the NEP on course structure, pedagogy, and evaluation design.
Prof. M. L. Saikumar, Former Dean-Academics-IPE Hyderabad and Dr M. S. Subhas, Former Vice Chancellor, Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari were the resource persons for the FDP. Prof. Saikumar spoke about the Effective Implementation of NEP-Issues and Challenges. He highlighted the role of faculty members and parents in the implementation of NEP apart from policy interventions. Dr. M. S Subhas presented his views on the impact of the NEP on Structure of Course, Pedagogy and Evaluation Design. He also stressed upon the need to liberate higher education system from the affiliation mode to autonomous mode. Both speakers highlighted the benefits of NEP 2020, which would definitely change the education scenario in India and will boost innovation, critical thinking and entrepreneurship among the students and faculty members alike.
Dr. Atul R. Deshpande, Director KLS IMER, presented the introductory remarks about the FDP theme. Dr. Kirti Shivkumar welcomed the virtual gathering. Dr. Arif Shaikh proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Shailaja G. Hiremath moderated the event.
