A guest lecture on “What It Takes to Be an HR Professional”was organized for 3rd Semester HR Specialization students on Friday, 27th March 2026. Ms. Shravani Kulkarni-Business-HR Talent Acquisition , Aequs Limited, Belagavi – Lead, delivered an insightful session. She highlighted key qualities expected of aspiring HRs namely integrity, business acumen, empathy, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. Breaking the common myth, she emphasized that HR is not just about people relations—but equally about loving numbers and data. She stressed the importance of understanding compliance, metrics, analytics, and financial implications in HR decisions. Students were encouraged to proactively engage in industry assignments and internships to build practical competence. She also advised developing adaptability and continuous learning to stay relevant in the evolving HR landscape. The session was highly interactive and inspiring, providing students with a clear roadmap for becoming future-ready HR professionals. Dr. Shailaja Hiremath, Associate Professor-HR organized the session. Dr. Arif Shaikh welcomed the guest speaker and encouraged students to learn practical aspects.
