KLS' IMER organized a National Level Chess Tournament at the KLS IMER Campus on 25th March 2025. Students from Kolhapur, Bengaluru, Nippani, Davangere, Shimoga, Bagalkot, Gadag and even two students from the Malaysian Chess Federation participated in this Chess Tournament. A total of 133 students competed in both the Inter-School and Open Age categories.

Dr. Arif Shaikh, Director of KLS IMER, welcomed the gathering and congratulated all the winners. The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Shri R.S. Mutalik, Chairman Governing Council KLS IMER, expressed his appreciation for the participants and the winners of the chess tournament. The event was coordinated by Dr. George Rodrigues Physical Education Director KLS IMER along with Chess Arbiters Mr. Girish Bachikar and Mr. Aakash Madiwalar and student volunteers Miss Sakshi Shah, Aishwarya Kolekar, and Abhish Shetty.
