An Alumni Interaction Session Mr. Mohammed Akeel Tahasildar 2025




An Alumni Interaction Session was conducted by Mr. Mohammed Akeel Tahasildar, Senior Area Sales Manager, PhonePe Pvt Ltd from 2014-16 batch on 9 th August 2025 at KLS IMER.
The topic of his discussion was “Decline in Skillsets”. He spoke on the traditional Indian education system, with its emphasis on rote learning and has been criticized for not nurturing practical skills, critical thinking, and problem- solving abilities. He emphasized on a significant disconnect that exists between what is taught in educational institutions and the skills demanded by industries. He spoke on the skills required to sustain in the corporate world like Leadership, Data Analytics, Technological Proficiency, Strategic Thinking, Communication & Networking. He said that the most underrated skill in an MBA program is the ability to effectively manage oneself. This includes prioritizing tasks, managing time and energy, and understanding one's own emotions and limitations. Many students fall into the trap of overcommitting, which can lead to burnout and decreased effectiveness. He gave some tips to improve one’s skills which are Set Clear Goals, Stay Organized, Engage Actively, Build Relationships, Manage Your Workload and Develop Critical Thinking.
The session was interactive and the students learned a lot from his experience sharing. The session was coordinated by Mr. Rahul Mailcontractor under the guidance of Dr. Arif Shaikh, director, KLS IMER.
